Calculating Temporary Spousal Support

When judges decide how much spousal support a husband is to pay while the divorce case is pending, they usually resort to a formula that is calculated with the DissoMaster program. The formula is the following:

40% of the husband’s net income – 50% of the wife’s net income = Temporary spousal support

For example, if a husband’s net income is $5,000 per month and the wife’s net income is $2,000 per month, the temporary spousal support would be calculated as follows:

2,000 (5,000 x 40%) – 1,000 (2,000 x 50%) $1,000 = Spousal support
